Kwik cricket
is a game designed for Under Elevens (all primary school children) as an introduction to cricket. A blue plastic bat and an orange plastic/rubber ball are used. Teams are six a side, and in a typical game, five bowlers will bowl one over of six balls each. The wicket keeper doesn't bowl. Then the other team bowls and whoever scores the most wins. Easy. Takes about 25 minutes to complete a game
Festivals
The Kwik cricket festivals are held on a Friday night, and a team will play in a mini league against three other teams. The evening starts at 6pm and finishes at around 9pm, with awards of trophies and certificates for all participants. There is normally always a barbecue and the bar is open. On a warm night it is a very pleasant way of spending an evening, supporting your child.
Under 12s and Under 15s cricket
These age-group games are played over a twenty over duration (takes about 1 hr 10 mins each innings). Starts at 6 pm and finishes at about 8.40pm. This is cricket with pads, gloves, helmets and a hard ball. The Under 12s use a lighter ball. Full safety equipment is both available and compulsory.
Practise night (all ages including seniors)
is Thursday from 6pm. If you want to use the nets at any other time please contact a member of the cricket club, and we will be as helpful as possible
