Earls Colne & Bures versus Clacton Ramblers.  Home at Earls Colne. Sunday 16th August

A fantastic and good team performance culminated in a convincing victory for Earls Colne and Bures Today.

Batting first, E C + B managed to muster 269 all out, James Lee with 73 and Lewis Chambers with 77 punished the Ramblers change bowlers, as we recovered from 30 for 2 to 143 for 2 in the space of 17 overs.   A flurry of wickets saw James, Lewis, James Durkin and Phil all fall and saw E C + B pegged back to 190 for 6 and in danger of falling short of their expectations. Luckily Lee Parish and Joe Smith put together 52 for the 8th wicket with Lee getting 33 and Joe 23, in the end the total we finished with was a good score on a belter of a track.

In Reply, Clacton Ramblers started off well advancing to 100 for 1 off of 18 overs, with only Patrick Mckenna picking up a solitary wicket, however important wickets from Parish and Durkin saw the Ramblers reduced to 130 for 4, in the End the total of 269 proved too large. Lee Parish With 10-0-40-2 and James Lee with a superb 7-1-14-4, eventually resulted in us bowling Clacton ramblers out for 184.

A win by 85 runs!, a good team performance and 20 points to boot!, this hopefully should see us move off the bottom of the league.
